NorthEast Indian Parkour Championship 1.0, Goalpara, December 2016

28 December 2016 · Goalpara, Assam · Competition

Record added 15 August 2026

The NorthEast Indian Parkour Championship, abbreviated NEIPC, was held at Goalpara in Assam on 28 December 2016, organised by Assam Parkour. It was announced in October 2016, and the organisers hosted the trailer, the athlete submission videos, the highlights and the full event on their own YouTube channel.

Six entries are named on the highlights video’s participant card: Assam Parkour, AR Freerunning, Smoke Freerunning, Tripura Parkour Claw, Ranger Freerunners, and a pair listed as Bittu and Raju. It is the widest single view we hold of the Northeast scene in 2016, and the only record of two of those groups.

The card is loose with names, as these groups tend to be about their own. Smoke Freerunning is Smoke Traceurs, who entered from Arunachal Pradesh with submission videos from Dumgan Nongseng Mirip and Jawja Phungin, labelled Team Smoke. Ranger Freerunners is recorded here as Team Ranger Kolkata, on the strength of the name alone.

Athletes who submitted entries for Assam Parkour include Biswajit Dutta, Mukun Rava, Rubul Deka, Sourav Deka, Bhargab Tamuli, Sourav Das, Jubin Masum Sarkar, Saikhom Chinguba Singha, Summa Amin Siddique, Narayan Rana and Abhijit Rava.

The highlights video thanks Visma Thapa, Mohammad Hussain, Brahmajyoti Sarma, Tarajul Alom, Azahar Ali, Shahinur Islam, Abu Sayed Rafi, Satyajit Das and Haidar Ali, alongside everyone at what it calls the Assam Parkour family. The video was edited by Mozammel.

The championship continued as an annual jam, held at Guwahati in 2017.
