Privacy Policy
IndianParkour.org is a volunteer-run documentation project recording the history of parkour in India. This policy explains what data the site handles and the choices you have. It is written for an Indian audience with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) in mind.
What this site is (and isn't)
This is a static website. There are no user accounts, no logins, no comment forms, and nothing to sign up for. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data with anyone.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, roughly
where visitors come from, and what devices they use. Analytics cookies (named
_ga and _ga_*) are only set if you accept the cookie
notice shown on your first visit. If you decline, or ignore the notice, no analytics cookies
are set. Your choice is stored in your browser and you can change it by clearing the site's
data in your browser settings.
Data collected by Google Analytics is processed by Google. You can read Google's privacy policy for details.
We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless service that records aggregate page-view statistics without setting cookies or building visitor profiles, so it runs regardless of your cookie choice. See Ahrefs' privacy policy.
Other third-party services
- Fonts: pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests files from Google's servers (revealing your IP address to Google, as with any web request).
- Hosting: the site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which may keep standard server logs (IP address, user agent) for security and operations.
People named in the historical record
The purpose of this site is to document parkour communities and the people who built them. We publish names, roles, and publicly available information about community figures (founders, coaches, and athletes) as part of that historical record. We compile this from public sources and from contributions by the communities themselves.
If you are named on this site and want your information corrected, updated, or removed, email us at [email protected] and we will act on it promptly. Where someone has asked not to be identified, we respect that.
Information you send us
If you email us stories, corrections, photographs, or community information, we use it for the documentation project; that is what it's for. Your email address is used only to correspond with you and is not published.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction or erasure of your personal data;
- have your grievances heard and addressed;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.
For any of these, or any privacy grievance, contact [email protected]. We aim to respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the timelines required by law.
Children
This site is general-audience documentation and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change (for example, if we add a contribution form), we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
