Every Record Now Tells You Where It Came From
Unauthenticated information is not very useful, and this website asks you to treat it as a trustworthy record of the history of Parkour in India. That is a big ask. Histories get muddled. Memories disagree. Old websites vanish, and what survives of them is not always the full story. So, our task isn’t that easy, and your task - to trust our information - even less so. Keeping this in mind, we have made a change that we believe every archive owes its readers: every community and people page now tells you, if the information that you’re looking at has been verified or not. To help you understand, we have three kinds of verifications.
Three Kinds of Record
From today, each page in the communities and people sections carries one of three marks:
- Confirmed by the source. The community or the person themselves has looked at their page and told us: yes, this is accurate. This is the gold standard, and it comes with a date, so you know when they confirmed it.
- Reconstructed from the archives. We pieced the record together from primary sources - old websites preserved by the Wayback Machine, posts and announcements from the time, surviving videos. We believe it is accurate, but nobody from the community has yet checked our work.
- Not yet confirmed. We recorded what we could find, but the record is thin and the source has not yet spoken. We say so openly, rather than let the page carry more authority than it has earned.
Why the Date Matters
A confirmation is not a confirmation of accuracy forever. When a community tells us their page is accurate, they are vouching for the page as it stood that day. If we later add to or correct that page, their confirmation may no longer cover our changes - and pretending otherwise would be a quiet kind of dishonesty. So the mark is dated, and if a record has been edited since it was confirmed, the page says that too. When the community reviews it again, the date is renewed.
This may seem like a small thing, but we think it is the whole thing. It’s why this website was started. A collective memory is only worth keeping if you can tell which parts of it have been verified, and when.
Why We Admit What Is Unconfirmed
It would be easy to mark only the verified pages and stay silent about the rest. We chose not to. An unconfirmed page says so in plain words, for two reasons.
The first is honesty: you deserve to know how much weight a record can bear before you rely on it. The second is an invitation. If you land on your own community’s page and see that it has not yet been confirmed, you know exactly what to do next - write to us, tell us what we got right and what we got wrong, and put your name behind the record.

Their pages carry the confirmed mark because they earned it - they did the work of remembering. Several more communities have promised us their information, and we will update their records the moment it arrives.
Check Your Own Page
If you are part of a community listed here, or you have a page in the people section, go and look at it. If it is marked as confirmed, thank you. If it is not, you can change that in one email: tell us what is right, what is wrong, and what is missing, and we will set the record straight. The key though, is to ensure that this communication comes through the persons responsible for running the group, and through verifiable channels.
